Current Research Assistants
Zahra Abba Omar is a doctoral student in the joint program at Yale between Sociology and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She uses qualitative research methods to study questions across digital technology and health and medicine.
Génesis Luigi Bravo is a doctoral student in the joint program at Yale between Sociology and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.
Stephanie Horsfall is a doctoral student in the Health Policy and Management program at the Yale School of Public Health. She’s interested in how political, economic, and social factors shape health policy debates in state governments.
Shirin Purkayastha is a doctoral student in the joint program at Yale between Sociology and Black Studies. She’s interested in how digital infrastructure shapes the production of culture.
Bridgitte Thao (’27) is a Yale sociology major and a research assistant on the AI accountability project.
Tatum Graham is an undergraduate student from Wyoming. She studies Sociology in the Health and Society concentration.

Inès Gilles (’25) is a Yale sociology major and former participant in an NSF-funded Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) linked to the Designing Policy for Accountable Software Systems project.
Matthew Bray (’24) is a Yale sociology major and our AI policy specialist.
Fikir Mekonnen (’24) is a Yale undergraduate studying cognitive science with a focus on social perception through an interdisciplinary lens. She worked extensively on the AI projects.
